Green tea originated in ancient China. The monks and traders brought green tea into Japan during the Nara Period (710-1192), along with Buddhism. Matcha, or powdered green tea, is an indispensable part of Japanese culture. But there are many more varieties of Japanese tea to enjoy! While they all come from the same plant (Camellia Sinensis), the difference is in the cultivation and processing of the leaves, like Gyokuro, Sencha, Tencha, Hojicha, Genmaicha, etc.

Liu Pao Tea China’s Liubao tea has a production history of 1,500 years, and its export record can be traced back more than 400 years. Liubao tea landed in Malaysia, and there have been two peak periods in modern times. One is Malaya in the 19th century. The tin mining industry has been extensively developed. Many Chinese laborers “going to Southeast Asia” poured into the tin mining industry, driving the import of Liubao tea. The second is that in the 1970s, the Malaysian tin mining industry was at its peak. As a “life-saving tea” for miners, the import of Liubao tea also reached its peak. Today, Liubao tea is selling well in Malaysia for the third time.
